Data Scientists come from all different backgrounds and work in many different domains. Come meet four local Data Scientists and learn from them what a career in data science looks like and how you can start one.

Panelists:

  • Christel Chehoud – PhD from Penn Medicine, currently a data scientist at Johnson & Johnson.
  • Devon Brackbill – PhD from Annenberg School of Communication at Penn, currently a data scientist at Cooper Health.
  • Doga Kerestecioglu – PhD in Sociology at Penn, currently a data scientist at NBCUniversal.
  • Erik Sjöland – PhD in Mathematics at Aalto University, currently a senior data scientist at The Wharton School.

Note: These data scientists happen to have PhDs, but you do not need a PhD to get into data science. Anyone interested in a data science career, no matter what degree you’re seeking, can benefit from this event.

Agenda:

6:00 - 6:30 PM – Short talks by panelists about their careers

6:30 - 7:00 PM – Q&A session and panel discussion

7:00 - 8:00 PM – Catered reception with light food outside auditorium

Directions:

To get to the Law Auditorium, enter the Perelman Center, go up the escalator, walk into the West Pavilion to the right, take an elevator to the 5th floor, walk through the glass doors, and the auditorium is to your left.
